Wemo Smart Plug connects to Home App; but not to Wemo App
Any others have this issue? Is there a solution? I'm using the newest smart plug.

Just learned from WEMO; that the new threaded Smart Plugs and NOT supposed to connect to the WEMO app; just the Home app.

Try deleting the Wemo app and reinstalling it. If that doesn't help, your next step would be to contact Wemo.
