AirPods Pro 2 Connection Issues
Has anyone else noticed an issue with the sound synchronization of the new AirPod Pro 2s? I'm not talking about the known issue with the connection randomly droppinproblem issue seems to be that when playing music or watching movies on my apple devices, the audio output will unsync; one airpod will play media slightly behind the other. It is not a terrible half-second lag, but the sound is different enough that you will definitely notice. Honestly, it may not even be lagging, but the sound is off. You will notice the unusual sound signature when you've listened to stereo audio long enough.
Additionally, when the audio unsyncs, another issue will arise. When you press and hold your stems to change between noise cancellation and transparency mode, only one ear will play the chime notification. It's super weird; you can alternate between stems, but only one stem will play the chime. The only way I've found to fix this issue and resync the audio is by refreshing the music or movie. Im going to list several parameters that lead to the audio failure below
- Only seems to occur on Apple Music and Apple TV.
- 3rd party media apps like youtube do not experience this issue
- Only seems to occur when sound profile is set to spatial audio
- For example, if i play music in default mode, the audio output does not experience any issues
- Often occurs after you've paused your music or show for a certain period of time
- For example, if I'm listening to music or watching a show on Apple music or TV and I pause for a couple minutes and I come back, the issue often appears
- Often occurs when scrubbing forward or backward on media
- For example my audio is fine one moment but if I scrub forward or backward, all the issues show up again
My thought? I think there is an issue with the spatial audio processing with new Airpod Pro 2s. The airpods seem to be unable to process the spatial audio fast enough to keep the audio in sync.
