When I first updated to 16 I thought it was CarPlay that wasn’t working. It isn’t. It is Siri or the microphone not working. I cannot dictate a text message using the little microphone on the keyboard nor can I ask Siri to do anything. I’ve checked settings, rebooted, everything on every Apple article and forum and nothing fixes it.

If the issue persists, I suggest that you make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Did you notice that mic works in all other apps? Also, there is a small X by the mic when I try to use keyboard dictation.
Same issue. Went to Genius Bar. Ran diagnostics, did a soft reset then erased all settings. Nothing. Apple recommended a full system re-install and manual setup. Haven’t tried yet.
