Wiped Stolen Ipad

I remotely wiped my stolen gen 8 ipad, not realizing that it would render the findMy feature useless. If someone tries to claim ownership, how will apple know it was stolen? I reported it to the police and the serial number is included in the police report.

Apple does not get involved with stolen Apple devices. You did the best thing by reporting it to the police.
