Retouch on Photos Mac not working with View Full HDR on iPhone

When editing a photo with the Retouch feature on mac, it looks great on macbook but creates a huge rectangle around the retouched area on iPhone. I've been wondering for a long time why is this happening, and when I sent the photo over to other people, they couldn't see the rectangles I was mentioning, to them the picture looked great. That's when I realised the problem was with how my iPhone was displaying the picture, and playing around with settings, I found the fix: turn off "View Full HDR" setting in Photos. Then, edited pictures looked great, these big rectangles around the edited photos were gone. I can't add photos to this post as they don't have the rectangles, only when displayed on iPhone you can see them. It's a bit confusing, but in short, you can't edit a high contrast photo with Retouch and display it well on iPhone with View Full HDR setting. It's one or the other... Apple, can you fix to allow both please?

Been my problem through gawd knows how many operating systems now. Now using Ventura on the Mac and up to date on iPhone OS. Did what you suggested (turn off View Full HDR). It works! Ultimately a bad solution though. Full disclosure: I am not a total fan of HDR. The search for the "perfect" photo seems to homogenize photographs where mood gets lost in the everything-lit-perfectly outcomes. I only use Apple or VSCO tools. Those using more. sophisticated editing progs might disagree, Haven't shot RAW lately. But thanks Quentin. In the short term at least I have an answer.
