I have a Series 5 and music is not syncing after updating to WatchOS 9. Status is stuck on "Waiting." iPhone is on iOS 16.
I started the sync at 16:42. The watch was on the charger. As of 17:22 no progress was made.
Anyone have this issue after the most recent WatchOS update and know a solution?
You can try the standard fixes:
Resetting the watch and that helps sometimes;
Next would be to unpair the watch and re setup the watch. Sometimes setting up as new works better than restoring from backup

I have the same issue. I’m using Apple Watch 6 with watchOS9. My iPhone 12 mini is on iOS 16. I’ve reset both devices. Turned on and off wifi, Bluetooth, restarted again. Unpaired and re-paired my watch to my phone. Nothing works. Still can’t download a single song. So frustrating and I’ve searched the web to find nothing but the same “tricks” that I’ve already tried above (and a few I’m sure I’m forgetting). This is a new issue as I’ve been synching songs to my phone for years with no issues.
Anyone find some new solution? Or maybe this is a fix for a new update. Frustrating.
