Spotify No Sound playing on HomePod mini's

I updated my Spotify app (v8.7.68) on my iPhone (12 Pro) this morning and I can no longer get it to play through my HomePod mini's (v16). When I connect to the HomePod the song is playing on Spotify, and I can open the HomePod in the Home app and see the song playing, but there is no sound. If I connect to a regular Bluetooth speaker it works fine, so it seems to be something with the AirPlay connection.

I have an older iPad (6th generation) running iPad OS 15.7 that I installed Spotify on today and when I play Spotify from the iPad and connect it to the HomePod, the sound works. So it seems to only be an issue with the iPhone app.

I've tried removing Spotify and reinstalling it, restarting my iPhone, updating iOS (v 16.0.2), resetting my HomePod, but nothing has worked.

I was curious if anyone else has come across this same issue?

You have covered the steps found in If HomePod mini or HomePod isn't responding - Apple Support. Since all of your other Apple devices are working with your HomePod and Spotify, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly by going to Get Support. They will be the ones to work with since this happened after upgrading the iOS.
