Ever since i updated my phone xr to iOS16, my Mac mini M1 isnt able to charge it at usual speed. It’s taking 10 minutes to increase by 1%. Unprecedentedly slow.
although when tested with Windows Laptop or the original iPad Charger 12W, is charging at much faster rate.
any reason? Any fix?

Hmmm… USB-A will do 5 watts, USB-C will do 20 watts, so that might influence the speed… i’d also suggest doing a hard reset on your iphone XR… looks like your iphone XR does support usb-c to lightning.. the hard reset thing is in this link : Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)

Yes. I did select the 'Trust' option. And to be sure that I did that correct or not, I had also reset my privacy and netowkr settings as well and 'Trusted'ed the computer once again. But still the same.
One thing I noticed was when I connected my phone to the computer for the first time after iOS16 update, my Mac Mini M1 showed an alert saying some extra Mac Updates are required before this phone works with the Mac Mini. I downloaded those as well and restarted my PC as well. Not sure if some issue in that update as well.
If a hard restart doesn’t fix, a full erase/reset might. Sounds like a lot of trouble but really isn’t and it does yield results.
If you go the route, and if restore from iCloud backup doesn’t fix, repeat without iCloud restore, manually install your apps instead (save screenshots to help you with that). The other option is to wait out for the next release. Good luck!
Works fine with my iPhone SE 1st Gen. When you plugged it in, did you get a Trust prompt? See About the 'Trust This Computer' alert on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
You mean restart or reset? The link that you have shared is of hard restarting. Also the same USB A port used to charge at an great speed earlier when I had not updated the phone to ios16.
