Stop controlling HomePod volume level on iPhone iOS 16

I don’t believe that is what she was asking about. We have the same issue here. When asking Siri to play ambient sounds (or anything) on a HomePod, the iPhones volume buttons now control that HomePod, instead of the phones volume. We have to go to contro center and change it back to control the iPhone. It’s extremely annoying. I have accidentally cranked up the volume in the nursery by accident.

how can we set the iPhone so that the volume buttons ONLY control the iPhone volume, unless I go to control center to change it?

I second.. same exact problem. Really really want a solution to this
