Ever after I upgraded both iPhone13 and Apple Watch Series 8 to the latest release, iMessage notifications no longer came to my watch, while phone calls still do. I rebooted my phone and watch a few times but they did not help.

When your Apple Watch locks or you turn on Do Not Disturb, your notifications go to your iPhone:
When your Apple Watch is locked, the lock iconappears on the watch face.
When Do Not Disturb is on, the Do Not Disturb iconappears on the watch face. To turn this feature off, swipe up on the watch face, then tap the Do Not Disturb button
