Location not clickable on subscribed calendar (Calendar App iOS)

In calendar iphone app, when you subscribe to a calendar with the url, all events appear but the locations related are not clickable (supposed to launch a GPS app). It is not an issue with my device because it does this to other people too. Thanks!

Hi there alexmercier25,

We can provide some guidance. If you're subscribing to a third-party calendar using a link or URL, the owner of that calendar determines what appears for any locations associated with events.

Keeping that in mind, are you able to click on locations in iCloud calendar events to view them in Maps?

If you unsubscribe from the calendar, then subscribe again, does that seem to make a difference? Learn how here:

Unsubscribe from a calendar
You can unsubscribe from a calendar you’re subscribed to. When you unsubscribe, you can also report the calendar as junk.
1. Tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen.
2. Tap the Info button next to the calendar you want to unsubscribe from.
3. Tap Unsubscribe, then Tap Unsubscribe

You'll find these steps in this link: Set up multiple calendars on iPhone - Apple Support

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers.

Thanks for getting back to us, alexmercier25. It's appreciated.

However, we’re a bit confused now. Are you subscribing to the subscription calendar in the native Calendar app on your device, or using a different Calendar app?

If you’re using the native Calendar app for the subscription, you’d want to reach out to the developer of the Calendar you subscribe to: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

If you’re using a third-party Calendar, see if the steps in this article helps: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support

If it’s still not working as expected, the issue must be in the Calendar you’re subscribing to. We recommend using the link we provided above to contact the Calendar’s creator.

Please let us know the results when you're able.

All the best.

alexmercier25,

With the event location not opening in the Maps app, you'll need to verify the settings are correct in the app you're currently a developer for.

Also, makes sure Location Services and GPS is enabled for the Calendar app on your iPhone. This will ensure when you use Apple Maps, you will be able to see the location without any issue. Here's how:

1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
2. Make sure that Location Services is on.
3. Scroll down to find the app.
4. Tap the app and select an option:
• Never: Prevents access to Location Services information.
• Ask Next Time: This allows you to choose Always While Using App, Allow Once, or Don't Allow.
• While Using the App: Allows access to Location Services only when the app or one of its features is visible on screen. If an app is set to While Using the App, you might see your status bar turn blue with a message that an app is actively using your location.
• Always: Allows access to your location even when the app is in the background.
From here, apps should provide an explanation of how the app will use your location information. Some apps might offer only two options.

More information is here Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.

Take care.
