Hello cziegs,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to make sure these RAW files are showing as expected on your Mac.

Try these steps to get the files showing as a RAW file instead of JPEG:

"Use a RAW file as the original in Photos on Mac

Some cameras allow you to shoot photos in both RAW and JPEG formats simultaneously. When you import photos from these cameras, Photos uses the JPEG file as the original—but you can tell it to use the RAW file as the original instead.

  1. In the Photos app  on your Mac, double-click a photo to open it, then click Edit in the toolbar.
  2. Choose Image > Use RAW as Original."

This Apple Support page has the full details: Use a RAW file as the original in Photos on Mac - Apple Support

We hope this helps to quickly resolve the issue and get the photos showing correctly as RAW files.

Cheers!
