Competition Invite Error

I accepted an invite from one of my Apple Watch Friends. The Competition shows on my end but not on their end. Also when I select our competition it shows them as 0 even though they have multiple steps and recorded activities. This has been an on going issue for over a week. At one point in time, I would send an invite and the invite never goes through and then he would send an invite and I never get it. It was only when u removed him as a friend that the invite came through. How can this be resolved.
