The shift key does not work to allow capital letters or use of characters above the numbers, the space bar does not always work and neither does the left, right, up, down arrow keys - all are are intermittent. I have restarted the ipad and carried out a forced restart, neither works. I have an Ipad pro 3rd generation running IOS15.6.1

Key board access was already off. I do not have another keyboard to try, there is no obvious external damage and the fault is inetermittent. Sometimes the space bar works and the other buttons do not with all variations in between.
I have similar problems.
No capital letters with the shift key
Cannot select blocks of text.
The space bar works intermittently.
When I want to type on the magic keyboard the soft keyboard in the iPad appears.
These issues have only recently appeared.
To overcome the problems I have to switch between the Magic Keyboard and the on-screen one
I am running iOS 15.7 on 3rd generation iPad Pro 12.9 inch (3rd generation).
Full Keyboard Access is turned off
Make sure in accessibility settings that Full Keyboard Access is turned OFF.
try another keyboard to check if your original one is damaged
It's hard to imagine anything other than keyboard damage that would cause this, so I recommend you find some way to verify that
