Internal crack on MacBook air

Hi, I have a MacBook Air for a program I do for schooling, I’ve never dropped it nor spilled anything on it. It was sitting out in the table this morning and I went to open it and the screen was back. Which is normal so I double clicked the space bar and a crack about the size of a finger print was on the right top corner. The actual screen is fine no visible damage what’s so ever. Only when the computer is on you can see it. But I cannot use the computer because the screen stays black. As I mentioned I do not own the laptop personally so would this count as my fault? And what is the issue here? Can I fix it? What is the estimated cost? Photo 1 is the laptop off and photo 2 is it on

Welcome lewisfromoakley,

We understand there is damage to your MacBook Air screen. We'll do our best to steer you in the right direction.

In order to determine the issue or what happened, you'd need to seek an inspection for your MacBook Air. If it is owned by a school or work, then you'll need to seek assistance from the IT department.
