Content and privacy restrictions turning on by themselves

As other users have also reported in the past, there is a strange problem with restrictions turning on by themselves at random times. Restrictions are turned on for my kids, but not on my own phone. Today it happened while I was browsing Safari!

worst thing is that when I switch restrictions back off, the apps that were disabled appear on my first Home Screen, which means I need to spend time rearranging my app icons.

Today I updated to iOS 16 in the hope that it wouldn’t happen anymore, but clearly that didn’t help.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

Hello CommunityMember22,

Let's double check under the Settings > Screen Time > Downtime menu to make sure that behavior isn't related to an erroneous schedule. This resource also covers that process: Set up Screen Time for yourself on iPhone - Apple Support

Should that behavior still persist, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support so they can look into this: Contact - Official Apple Support They'd be in the best position to assist further.

Take care.
