iphone 14 pro overheating/not charging

I just got my iphone 14 pro yesterday and 2 things caught my attention. My old phone never did that..

First off, when I charge my phone, even with the new wire and box, it stays the same number for hours. My phone also gets really hot when it’s charging even if there are no apps running or I’m not even using it.

My main problems are how hot the phone gets when i’m using an app or charging it as well as how i’ll be charging it for hours and the percent hasn’t increased.

Hi ggiana,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

If your iPhone is getting warm only while charging, we would recommend looking over this information from If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold:

"You might notice that your device feels warmer when you:

• Set up your device the first time

• Restore from a backup

• Wirelessly charge your device

• Use graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps, games, or features, including augmented-reality apps

• Stream high-quality video

These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when the process is complete or when you finish your activity. If your device doesn't display a temperature warning, you can keep using your device."

The steps here are geared to help with the charging issue: If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge

Take a look at that resource and see if any of those conditions are being met that prevent your iPhone from charging properly. Report back here with what you have found.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
