My sister passed away recently and left a iPad mini but she didn’t write down her Apple ID or password to unlock her device. Not sure if there is any option to try to get it unlocked and reset it.

NB: If needed:
An Apple ID is generally the eMail address of the person,
however it can be a phone number in some countries.
