I just got a friends old Apple Watch 3, so when I got it I factory reset it. Now when I’m trying to pair it to my phone, it’ll get through the update but then the Apple Watch resets on “preparing” I’ve tried resetting it, I’ve tried it on a older phone, I just don’t know what to do.

“Preparing” can go on for awhile.
Try resetting network settings on your iPhone: In Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Join wifi again after it restarts
