Hi, I just bought a new iPad on July, 2022 and I want to restore from iCloud, but it only has a five day option on it! And what I need is the backup from September 9th and before, can you please help me find it?

Because the Social media Line I use a lot is only allowed on one device! Thanks!

The Apple Support Community is a user-to-user technical forum. Contributors here are all end-users, just like you. Apple Support staff neither monitor nor participate in these community discussions.

As for restoring your iCloud backup to an earlier incremental date, this is technically not possible.

If you still need help from Apple, you can contact the Support Team using the Get Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

Your iCloud backups only store the most recent backup for each of your devices. Other than for the very first backup, each subsequent backup is incremental - in that only files/data that have been added or changed will update the iCloud backup.

As such, you’ll only see one iCloud backup for each of you devices - the date indicates when the existing backup was last refreshed.

To be absolutely clear, your iCloud backup is incremental.

iCloud does not maintain multiple full backups of any single device. This strategy, whilst lacking the functionality that you seek, provides a fast/efficient backup of your device(s).

If you wish to keep multiple full backups of your iPad, you’ll need to use a PC (with iTunes installed) or Mac (with iTunes or Finder) as appropriate the installed version of macOS). Having created a device backup, it will need to be manually archived prior to creating a new full backup of the device. In addition to lack of automation, the time required for each backup will be considerable - in direct proportion to the amount of locally stored data.

Individual files, data and photos that are synchronised with iCloud are not included in your iCloud backup. Instead they are accessible using the iPad Files App - or from another computer using a web browser:

https://icloud.apple.com

As such, unless your social media interaction creates discrete files that are stored/synchronised in iCloud file storage, you’ll not be able to recover them.
