I haven’t been able to disable the ugly new iOS 16 battery percentage indicator on my iPhone 12 Pro since June. Now, after transferring my data to a new iPhone 14 Pro I’m having the same issue.
Anyone else experience this? Have you been able to fix it?

I do use iCloud but unfortunately, I'm not aware of a way to restore app data for apps without a login and that don't use iCloud sync. I use about 200 apps so this is a pretty daunting prospect. Re: other things I've tried, there isn't anything else I've thought to try. This isn't an issue I've come across before and searches haven't yielded any results. Thanks again
erase your device and set it up as new. the old backup is corrupt.

Go to settings>general>reset>and reset all settings. This does not delete data but it does delete personal settings.
