Hello, I’m going to Pakistan in 10-15 days so I was thinking to purchase iPhone 14 pro max from apple store or online from apple site and open phone box in Pakistan and activate it there, should I buy Carrier unlock variant so that sims can work in pakistan. Is unlock variant cost more than normal iphone? Please let me know thanks.

It’s ok e-sim services is available in pakistan so no worries about that. Just wanna know about the price differences of unlock variant and normal variant. Or will unlock variant work in pakistan network ?

The iPhones purchased at full price are carrier-unlocked. This includes all full-price iPhones with the carrier eSIM pre-populated. All are carrier unlocked.
Caveat: There was an offer of at least one carrier-provided (not Apple-provided) installment payment plan which was carrier-subsidized, not at full price, and that iPhone is very likely carrier-locked.
iPhone 14’s sold in the US are esim only.
they don’t have a SIM card tray, there is no way to add or use a physical SIM card with them.
The price is the same for carrier locked and unlocked iPhones, at least if purchased directly from Apple.
