Why is Apple Maps launching step-by-step directions before I tap Go?

When I ask for directions to a location, Apple Maps behaves as expected--the map displays with the route. The issue is that Apple Maps within a few seconds immediately starts giving step-by-step directions even though I never tapped "Go." I usually want to look at an overview of the map, get in my car, and when I'm ready to start step-by-step directions, tap "Go." However, I'm not able to do that because the directions launch without my tapping Go. It's difficult from that point to get back to the overview. As a workaround, say "Hey Siri, stop navigation" and then when I want directions to begin as I'm driving, I ask for directions again. Why is Apple Maps launching step-by-step directions before I tap Go?
