I cannot open notifications in Safari on Mac Monterey after latest update

I cannot open notifications in Safari on Mac Monterey after latest update (both OS and Safari). The notifications showup the way they should, but when clicking on them they do not open in safari as they have in the past. I have checked all settings and they all seem to be right, as nothing was changed after the last up date.

I have the same issue on my M2 MacBook air. Re-installing Monterey did the trick and worked fine for a few days but then the notifications stopped working again. I re-installed Monterey again last night but have not carried out updates this time round to see how long it lasts for. I was using version 16 but now on 12.6.
