iOS 16 and error 0xE8000065

Caution: do NOT yet upgrade your iPhone to iOS 16. It has a serious problem and does not allow you to connect your iPhone to iTunes in a P.C.

The internet is full of complaints from people having that problem (in addition to myself).

suggested fixes are mostly useless; I tried them all.

There is no fix till Apple comes up with an update.

Windows, Windows 6

Greetings MichaelCal,

Ensuring your iPhone connects and is recognized by your PC is important. You mentioned having completed troubleshooting steps to no avail. To confirm, have you tried the steps listed below? If not, complete these steps as they can help with resolving this issue.

  1. Restart your PC.
  2. Update to the latest version of iTunes.
  3. Update Windows on your PC.
  4. Make sure you're not connecting your iPhone via a USB hub.
  5. If available, try a different USB cable.
  6. If you have additional USB devices connected, unplug those devices and try again.

Let us know how that goes!
