Desktop WhatsApp not pasting copied text from MSWORD (Clipboard copies and pastes everything else)

I am having problems in copying text from MSWORD (Version 16.62) and then pasting it in WhatsApp ( version 2.2232.8 for MAC). If I paste the same text copied from word into TEXTEDIT and then paste it into WhatsApp, it works but not directly which is very annoying and time consuming.

Does anyone know how to fix this ?. It is not a CLIPBOARD Issue as clipboard can copy form safari and paste in WhatsApp - clipboard is also copying form MSWORD - Clipboard is also able to copy from EXCELL and then paste in WhatsApp but that appears as a photo. so the main issue is that the word copied context in clipboard is not getting pasted in WHATSAPP

The problem is coming from MSWORD Copied text that does appear in clipboard but then is not getting pasted in WHATSAPP for Mac

Please HELP

I agree that Copy and Paste is a basic functionality that should work with every app.

The WhatsApp Copy and Paste works with Apple's Pages app as well as with the Text Editor, and not with Microsoft Word. This leads me to believe that the problem is with Microsoft Word for the use case in question, and not other way around.

Since you are not familiar with WhatsApp, it has 2 billion worldwide users. The parent company is Meta.

It has something to do with the way MS Word formats text. Copy and Paste the text to a document in Pages or Text Editor that essentially removes the formatting. Now copy and paste from there to WhatsApp.

Obviously you can do the same if you want to copy text from WhatsApp to MS Word.

Word isn't doing anything wrong or unusual. It is normal for apps to copy many different formats onto the clipboard. Then, when pasting the copied data, the app should choose the richest content. Sometimes, there is an option to "paste while matching format" or just paste as plain text. But the problem is definitely with WhatsApp, not Word.

Yes. Your solution will definitely work. But people shouldn't have to do that. Copy and paste is a really basic functionality that virtually every app properly supports.

It’s not a problem with Word. WhatsApp is a phone app. Clearly the developers don’t understand the kind of data that will be on the clipboard. Office has a billion users of its own, most of them on the desktop.
