Safari 16.0 issues

After Safari 16.0 update clicking on alerts in Notifications no longer brings a web client up. Worked with 15.6. Has anyone encountered and potentially resolved? ( MacOS 12.6 ; Mac Pro Late 2013 )

Hi bluesdoctor,

We see you're running into some issues using notifications with Safari on your Mac, and we'd like to provide a resource to double-check your settings as a start: Customize website notifications in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

"Change preferences for notifications

In the Safari app  on your Mac, do any of the following:

  • Stop receiving notifications from a website: Choose Safari > Preferences, click Websites, then click Notifications. Find the website in the list, then select Deny.
  • Change how website notifications appear: Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Notifications , select Safari on the left, then change the Safari alert style and other settings on the right.
  • Stop seeing requests for permission to send you notifications in Safari: Choose Safari > Preferences, click Websites, then click Notifications. Deselect “Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications.”
  • From now on, when you visit a website that wants to send you notifications, you aren’t asked."

If you've already double-checked those settings and they appear to be in order, please use this link to reach us directly: Apple Support

Take care.

I opened a case with apple before I posted "Case ID: 101801254750 ". They checked the safari related settings to no prevail. The only resolution I have currently was doing a recover of Monterey ( 12.6 ) and not install safari 16.0. Support really didn't offer any other solution, sadly given this a bit concerned with upgrading to the next safari update 16.x whenever it is released.
