watch Update not loading

How do I get my phone to load the latest update to my watch? I tried numerous times, I've shut off both the phone and the watch, but nothing is helping. I keep getting a "failed" message.

Latest IOS update issue with watch 7 Hiya - I have a watch 7. I have tried unsuccessfully to update it today - I updated my iphone first (6S plus), but when I try to do the watch update it says I need to update my phone first, even though when I check the phone update it says I have the latest software. I have tried: Hard starting the phone Unpairing/repairing Restarting both Quite irritating as I could do with some of the latest features. I also have an aversion to things that don't work.

maybe your ISP; internet service provider is having network issues, try calling them
