Watch refuses to update

I'm trying to update my watch series 6, but when I try and check for updates it just says I've got to update my iphone which I already have done. The iphone is 6s & on the latest version that it can have.

Any help please?

You need at least an iphone 8 running ios16 to update a watch to WatchOS9.
