Moving Dropbox folder location on Mac m1 Monterey 12.6

Just got my new Mac Studio.

I have a 2,5 TB dropbox folder, which content I need to have on my local Mac studio. I'm installing the Dropbox app, and want to select a different disk as location for my whole dropbox. The dropbox app then says:

This version of mac os (12.6) requires the dropbox folder to be stored here: Users/myUser/CloudStorage/Dropbox

The Dropbox version is (beta) 157.3.4738.

What can I do? There is not room on the main drive for my dropbox content.

Have you tried using a Symbolic Link in place of the folder pointing to the folder on an EHD?

It's a long shot as it won't let me move my Book library from the user/Library folder to an EHD with a symbolic link. But give it a try anyway.

Dropbox contacted me back, being more spesific. They say:

"the reason why you are unable to change the location of your Dropbox folder, is because you have the File Provide extension on your Mac device that does not allow it."

Is there a way to get around this?

I just talked to Dropbox about this, and they say I have to talk to Apple. Explaining that the Dropbox App is not an actual app but a file extension, and that the Mac OS, as it is now, does not allow to move to Dropbox folder over to a separate drive. It sounds absurd, and I wish there was a way around this.
