CarPlay problem in iOS 16

When using CarPlay after upgrading to iOS 16 I am losing the ability to navigate through apps. For example, in Messages or Music I get no response from inputs to move around the screen and select items or click buttons. It works fine for awhile after connecting to CarPlay, but locks up after a short period of time. Once this happens, Siri still works and I can return to home where controls start working again, but once I go back to any app the controls stop working again.


I have done the usual: deleted my car from the phone and repaired and did a hard reset of the iPhone. Anyone else experiencing problems like this?

As a follow up in case it helps someone else: I was able to resolve my issue serendipitously while chasing another iOS 16 issue with DNS. Resetting network settings seems to have done the trick by way of Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
