My update keeps saying update requested and it won't go any farther. What can I do?

Are you connected to a valid WiFi network ? ( other devices, apple or not apple related working on that network)?

• if so, have you reset network settings?
• Connected to a power source depending on the current state of the battery?

~ If you have access to a PC or Mac you can always attempt the update that way, not just over a wifi network.
