My iPhone updated to iOS 16 yesterday with no issue. Unfortunately, my iPad pro won't even show the update for iOS 16 as existing. I have a solid internet connection, over 100 GB free on my device, and the iPad is less than a year old.
What gives?

Unlike iOS16 for iPhone, released yesterday, iPadOS16 is not due for release until sometime in October.
However, iPadOS 15.7 was also released yesterday - incorporating essential security updates.

While iOS16 is available for iPhone, iPhone owners have the option to just install iOS15.7 at this time.
iPad OS 16 has not been released.
Apple states that it will be released in October.
