iOS 16 update not showing on my iPhone 13

I have an iPhone 13 and everyone I know has the update but it’s not showing up on my phone at all. Every time I go to check for update it says “iOS is up to date 15.7” but the iOS 16 is out and it just won’t show up on my phone I have plenty of storage left to download it and am under Wi-Fi , why isn’t it showing up?

Hello Lturner991,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

What is the exact error message you receive, if any? Are you trying to update OTA or via your computer?

Let use the steps as listed here to update using your computer: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Finder - Apple Support

  1. Open a Finder window on a Mac with macOS Catalina or later.
  2. Connect your device to your computer.
  3. Select your device in the left sidebar of the Finder window. Learn what to do if you don't see your device.
  4. Click General, then click Check for Update.
  5. Click Download and Update. Continue by following the onscreen instructions.
  6. If asked, enter your passcode. Learn what to do if you don't know your passcode.

Let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.

Thanks for getting back to us with that information, Lturner991. It’s appreciated.

Before you try to update your iPhone again, make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi and not a Personal Hotspot, not using a VPN, and connected to charge. Then, see if you’re able to update your iPhone again: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Please let us know the results when you're able.

All the best.

I have an iPhone Xr with this same issue. I do not own a mac but I do own a windows computer. Whenever I tried to check for update, there were no error messages. It told me that my phone was up to date but its on 15.7. I've tried all of the solutions that you listed but to no avail. I tried removing the update in my iPhone storage like one of the articles suggests but it just stays there and doesn't remove itself. If you are able to help me with this it would be greatly appreciated as I feel defeated and just want to experience iOS 16.
