Now Playing icon not appearing automatically in watchOS 9 / iOs 16

Hi.

Since I installed iOs 16 and watchOS 9, the Now Playing icon is not appearing automatically in the watch when I'm listening to music in my iPhone. It makes more difficult to control iPhone volume from apple watch. I have to look for Now Playing app, open it and then control volume with the crown. The app doesn't stay opened, so I have to repeat the whole operation every time I need to control iPhone volume.

Anyone else with this problem, or am I missing something?
