When I press enter to select left menu it always jumps to search

Unless someone else from the UK chimes in with personal experience, I would suggest to contact Channel 5 Support for assistance with their app.
Also try this for any misbehaving app:
- Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
- If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
- If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
- If the issue still persists, then contact the app developer for further assistance.
