I can't sign into my apple ID on macbook

My Macbook Pro is a 2020 version with the M1 chip running Monterey 12.6. The issue I'm having is when I go to system preferences and try to sign in using my apple ID and password it won't work. I've tried the same thing with messages and get an error that says "An Unknown error has occurred"

I even reset my password and confirmed it worked on other apple devises and tried to sign in again and it still won't work for messages or account verification on system preferences.

Does anyone have a clue what's happening here?

I think the use is the User Account Password for the computer versus the Apple ID Password

When I start my M1 MBA the Owner Account of this computer is all I need to input inorder to gain access to any of the Applets contained in System Preferences

Reset your Apple ID password with the Apple Support app on a borrowed device

If you don't have an Apple device, borrow one from a friend or family member, or visit an Apple Store.

  1. Open the Apple Support app on the borrowed Apple device. If needed, you can download the Apple Support app from the App Store.
  2. Tap Passwords & Security > Reset Apple ID password > Get Started.
  3. Tap "A different Apple ID."
  4. Enter your Apple ID and follow the onscreen instructions to reset your password.

Any information that you enter will not be stored on the device.

Reset your Apple ID password on the web

If you don't have a trusted device, you can reset your password on the web—but the process might take a little longer.

When possible, the web process redirects you to a trusted device. If you'll have access to one of your trusted devices soon, it might be faster and easier to reset your password then.

When I type my correct username and password into the "sign in" link in the above image it spins and spins and nothing happens. I have 12 other apple devices using the apple ID and password that I'm using to try to sign in and it doesn't work. I can't figure out what is happening. I've even reset my apple ID password to see if that would allow me to log into my apple ID and that didn't work either.

This isn't a simple password reset or apple ID issue. Something is happening that isn't allowing me to sign in and I can't figure it out. Again, the apple ID and password is correct. I've confirmed it on the other 12 devices I have but it won't work on this specific macbook.
