iPadOS 15.7

Why did my iPad gets the update the of iPadOS 15.7 rather than iPadOS 16 what is the purpose of giving this update and iPadOS 16 is supposed to be rolled out on Monday ? and I am using iPad Air 4

Unlike iOS16 for iPhone, released today, iPadOS16 is not due for release until October.

However, iPadOS 15.7 has also been released today - incorporating essential security updates.

While iOS16 is available for iPhone, iPhone owners can instead install iOS15.7 at this time.

iPad OS 16 has yet to be released. Apple states it will be released in October.

Yes, if that is being offered. I have been checking the release notes for iOS 15, but they have not yet been updated to show what iOS 15.7 consists of.
