How do I get SMS/MMS working again after 10 months of usage

All of a sudden I'm not getting SMS/MMS messages from businesses and android phone users. My research/apple tech support person says this is a Verizon (my carrier) issue. What is the most successful way to regain this service. I have an iPhone 13 mini and am up to date on updates to the O/S 15.6.1

The people in the store can't help you. Verizon needs to re-provision your account if the problem is on their end. They can't do that in the store.
