Removing AirPods from a compromised AppleID?

How can I remove AirPods from a compromised AppleID so that I can add them to my new one? I can’t access the old AppleID to go through the normal steps.

Remove AirPods from someone else’s Apple ID My AirPods Pro have been connected to a few peoples phones, and added to their Apple IDs. This has caused issues in find my iPhone, and I can’t track their location properly, and Apple Store employees have advised that I remove them from all devices in find my iPhone. I have removed the AirPods from all devices, except the owner of one device won’t let me remove them (why?). I need to remove them from this Apple ID.
