Iphone 13 max through apple lightning usb causing erratic hissing

I have the same problem someone else had through their mac book. I play my high res streaming through my DAC using the Apple lightning to USB adapter and get an extremely loud hissing white noise. I have the most up to date iOS and tried restarting my phone and still happens. When I used my friends old iPad running on a very old iOS it worked perfectly. I feel there is an issue with the current iOS on my phone please help.
