Moved from Motorola to iPhone 8 Plus and cannot receive text from certain contacts

I recently switched from a Motorola android to iPhone 8 plus. I have a couple contacts that I have texted and they receive okay but when they reply back I do not receive on my iphone. I can connect my Motorola on wifi and still get the messages on that phone but that's not really what I want to do. I have forced restart, deleted and added contact back, imported contacts to iCloud. Not sure what else to try.

Check the Wi-Fi connection:

Check the router settings:

If you need help with your Wi‑Fi password

If they are On, turn Off Hotspot & VPN.

Thank you for your input. All the support document options are where they need to be. I can send and receive text messages but have issues with not getting messages to my iphone from a couple contacts at this time. If I connect my wifi on old phone, their messages will show up on that phone. It is pretty weird.
