iPhone 12 BT audio choppy/ cuts out occasionally

is this a hardware issue with the 12? Never had this issue with the Xr and am using same AirPods (occurs on 2 different sets). I can tell when audio becoming choppy like it’s interference or weak connectivity; has occurred via Wi-Fi and cellular both. When occurs during calls, callers say voice very tinny. Have tried repairing, restarts, network resets, removing phone case, removing all other paired devices but the problem remains. Phone only 2 weeks old; should I request new phone or is there a known solution to this issue?

If you have a hearing or sound issue on your device then please try some of these processes to set it right

If the above options do not mitigate the issues then Contact your carrier and then Contact Apple Support
