so basically, a while ago, I think back in march, I think I backed my iPhone up to my MacBook Pro. I now want to delete this data (which is like 122 GB) so how do I do this? How do I delete this backup I think from my MacBook, and if I have my iPhone backed up to iCloud on the phone itself, will all of the data be safe?

You don't need to have your phone connected to the computer to see or delete backups to that computer. If you followed the instructions in my previous post and it shows no backups, that would indicate that there aren't any currently on the computer.
alright! that makes sense, but why does it say I have 122 GB of data stored on my computer from my iPhone? or is that not what it means, and it means something different? basically, what im saying is: how do I get rid of that 122 GB of data supposedly stored on my computer?
It's a coincidence. iPhone backups are one of the things that are included in system data but you don't appear to have any backups on your computer. Another major thing can be Time Machine backups.
System data being large is not an area that I have any particular expertise. I would recommend that you start a new post with a title something like How to reduce 122GB system data on my MacBook Pro" and include the last screenshot above in that post.
here; on this sidebar of the finder app: (I have my iPhone connected to the Mac to show you btw) and it just said "a software update was required to view Dasch's iPhone or something.

when i click on the manage backups icon, no backups show up, even when i have my iPhone connected to my MacBook. what should I do now lol
Where (on your computer or on your iPhone) does it say that you have 122GB of data stored on your computer?
The 122.65 is the storage used on your iPhone. It has nothing to do with your computer.
You can also see that (along with details) on the phone itself at Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
