just bought new Apple TV 4K. I didn’t know they took the gyro out of the new remote for gaming.
my question is. How do I play games like tennis. Bowling golf etc? I know I can buy a compatible game controller. But how do I play the “movements” games? Do I need to get the old remote to play those games?

The compatible game controllers have gyro and accelerometer. Those will relay controller movements where needed. Connect a wireless game controller to your Apple device - Apple Support
