Can Apple wallet be compromised?

Can Apple wallet be compromised? I am receiving fraudulent charges on the cards stored in my Apple wallet.

Apple Wallet Hack or Card Compromised I carelessly followed a link in a text message supposedly from Apple informing me that my card had been “suspended due to unusual activity” and provided my card details for so-called wallet reactivation. Unauthorised transactions then ensued on that card and on another card issued by my card company - a virtual bank. I’ve cancelled both cards and am considering requesting replacements. So, was my Apple Wallet hacked or my cards merely compromised? Put differently, if a get new cards and add them to Wallet, can I expect them to be safe?

Apple Wallet Compromised? I think that my Apple Wallet may have been compromised. My physical bank cards stay in my wallet, in my cupboard at home. They have been there for months and no one has access to them. Recently, while in Cape Town, SA, I received text messages from my bank showing that there were multiple small transactions going off my account. I called my bank to query that transactions and they advised that this was a common way for thieves who have your card information to test whether transactions are successful or not. They run a few small transactions before attempting a large one. I cancelled my card. Crisis averted. But, the next day, the same thing happened on another card I had. This time, a much larger amount. Different card, different bank. Both of the cards in question were in my wallet at home, in Johannesburg. And both of the cards that were compromised were loaded on my Apple Wallet. None of my cards that were not in my Apple Wallet were affected or had to be cancelled. Only those in my Apple Wallet Given this above information; is it possible that my Apple Wallet was compromised?

Digital wallet (Apple wallet) hacked? The other week someone got ahold of my Apple wallet and used my card to try and purchase something in another state. Bank said they used my “digital wallet”. Never fell for those text/email scams. How did this happen and how do I prevent it?

Highly unlikely. Nothing is impossible, but there are no known instances of Apple Wallet / Apple Pay being compromised like that.

How are these charges appearing exactly? If they have "apple.com.bill" as their descriptor, then those have nothing to do with Wallet or Apple Pay. Those recharges stemming from purchases or subscriptions through your Apple ID on the App, Books and iTunes Stores.

If you are seeing names of specific stores and location in your statement, that normally means your cards have been compromised, most probably outside of Wallet / Apple Pay.
