shortcuts app

I using the shortcuts app to create an entry into the Dayone journaling app. I have several provided input actions and text following those. I cant figure out how to get the create entry action to pull from the correct action within the shortcut... My mac does not have the magic variable option either .... different software I guess. Any suggestions?
