Why is OneDrive on my Mac?

I have recently seen (for the first time) "Verifying OneDrive" alerts. I was unaware of its presence -- or any reason for its presence -- on my Mac. Can I safely delete OneDrive?

OneDrive is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the trash Why did it get this message and how do I fix it? I do charity work where everyone else uses Windows. If I can't access OneDrive, I can't do the work. I am running MacOS Ventura 13.4. The Show Info for OneDrive says it was created May 31, 2023 at 3:58 am and modified on June 13, 2023 at 12:47 pm. Any advice?

How to open OneDrive in order to remove it I am trying to remove OneDrive from my MacBookAir but it says: "Cannot move to trash cause OneDrive is open" How do I close it ??

Wild guess: you installed MicroSoft Office. Yes you can delete it.
