The books app is missing from the list of apps that allow file transfer

Earlier I could transfer audiobooks from my PC to my iPad through iTunes. But of late the books app is missing from the apps that allow file transfer in iTunes. Other apps for audiobooks like pocketbook and bookmobile are visible and allow transfer of books. Any suggestions on how to get the books app back in the list of apps that allow file transfer q
