Why some applications are not compatibles with the last OS upgrade?

I am installing some applications in my new MacBook Air and they donˋt open. Appears an indication to install Rosetta!

MacBook Air won't update/upgrade None of my applications are working on my computer now because it says that my MacOS X Yosemite 10.10.5 is no longer supported. I have followed every step to try and fix this but I keep going in circles. There is no update in my app store or system updates, and when I search in the app store to find it and download one (ex: MacOS Ventura), it says it's not compatible with my computer. I can find no other solutions online so I don't know what else to do.

MacBook Air 10.9.5 to 10.11 or never Hello, I have a MacBook Air 11-inch 2014 with OS X 10.9.5 installed, and unfortunately, due to security policies, practically nothing works. I can't install applications from the App Store or browse the internet. In the updates, I don't see anything. Is there any way to do it manually? I've tried various solutions from the internet, but none of them work. Please help me.

You don't say what apps...

If it is not a "Universal app" coded for M1/M2 CPU then yes you need to run the Rosetta.
